SUMMARY: A solid silver 15 jewel high grade pocket watch made by the Royal Watch makers, J W Benson. This is a beautifully made keyless-wound silver pocket watch, made in the Edwardian period, ca. 1910. The buy it now price is a clear reflection of the rarity, stunning condition and long-term investment for this watch. The watch recently cleaned and overahauled by watchmaker and comes with a two year mechanical warranty. Mint watches in this condition, can only rise in value, given the limited supply of such items. THE DIAL: 100% mint, the white enamel double sunk dial with black Roman numerals and in bright condition with no chips or hairlines. The dial with fine gold spade hands. Diameter is 42 mm. The crystal is also in excellent condition and retained securely. THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with a gilded three quarter plate and a micro-star regulator, and gold screws. A cut two arm bimetallic balance, with Breguet hairspring and lever escapement. The movement overall of very good quality, with a cut-away plate and gold plated wheels. The watch ticking away on my desk as I type this, and keeping very good time for a 100 year old watch. The watch with 15 jewels and fully signed J W Benson. The watch is much brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equipment. The watch is in very good working order for its age. THE CASE: 98% mint, the solid silver case measures an impressive 48 mm. The front and rear covers both close nice and tightly . The case fully marked with a case number of 685,689 and sterling silver London marks. The rear cover in fine condition, with a few fine scratches. The watch comes with a new presentation box to store the watch when not in use. This is a high quality case, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. The pictures show minor reflections and various dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case. This is a very fine period watch in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Please note, the magnified electronic images show detail much greater than would be visible with the naked eye.
