You are buying a brand new McFarlane Toys Series 1 Special Limited Edition Spawn Unmasked Hamburger Head Action Figure. Made by McFarlane Toys or Todd Toys in 1994, this special figure features a variant head sculpt with Spawn without his trademark Spawn mask. This figure also includes the special edition comic book and has no insert trading card. This figure is brand new, still in the original clam shell package with 1st version backing card. This is a new factory case figure that exhibits the typical aging effects of a 25 + years old figure in storage for that time period. Photos are of the actual item you will receive. Note: The bottom left corner of the clamshell packaging has a slight 1/2″ split in the outside edge. (See photo.) The rest of the item is fine. This item is being sold “as is:. The overall package is in factory new condition except minor factory rub marks where the figures touch each other in the factory case during transport from China, the source of manufacture. Spawn series 1 cases were packed in a 12 figure vertical interleaf, which meant that each figure would overlap and they did not insert tissue paper in between the figures in many cases. This vertical interleaf meant that the figures would rest on top of each other when stacked upright and would slide back and forth when stacked sideways. We are sure that each and every case transported from China had been turned in each and every direction as once in the US, they were often shipped by truck to distribution points and then to the final destination, hence factory rub marks. This is different from the scratches found on many figures due to the combination of UV light exposure and dust. The plastic was so soft that the least bit of dirt removal effort would leave scratches. many figures show circular scratch marks from where an effort was made to wipe off the dust. This packing and transport method would produce the trademark rub marks. The Spawn figure itself had the wrap around cape and right hand touches the plastic surface from the inside because of the slight clearance which produced a characteristic light rub streak about 1 1/2” long and half way up the bubble when it touched other figures. This is item # 10101 and this figure has been stored in a factory case since 1994 and has never been on a store shelf, or had any store stickers. No matter what you do, once a figure from that period has been exposed to light and/or dust they will begin to become dull.
