This collection is in excellent vintage condition. The exterior glazing on each jar is vibrant, and oblique lighting reveals very few exterior scratches or scuffs. Each interior is clean and odor-free. The unglazed footrings on Dalom are known to discolor, and these pieces show varying degrees of discoloration — with two being slightly worse than the others. None of this discoloration “creeps,” meaning it isn’t visible when the jars are upright . All footrings do show signs of the usual “wear and tear” one might expect from jars such as these after they’ve been moved around on shelving. Under oblique lighting, a few jars show very light crazing near the backstamp. Each solid teak lid simply rests on top of its respective canister, as the lids for these jars were never manufactured with inner cork stoppers or rubberized seals to secure their fit. Whether used for display or for holding household items, this unusual set is a very collectible Westman design. And a set of four jars in one lot is very difficult to find, especially in this condition. Each jar is stamped with the “Rörstrand Sweden” logo and the “Dalom 77” label.
