New CD Steve Hiett -Down On The Road By The Beach- Ltd/Ed from Japan Description Description The second installment of the highly popular AOR CITY series! Supervised by Toshikazu Kanazawa, known for Light Mellow, this book offers famous and rare AOR albums at an affordable price of 1,000 yen. The artwork for the series is by Hiroshi Nagai, a master of illustration. Born in the UK. While playing in bands as a professional guitarist from the 1960s, he became an art director and designer before turning to photography. He worked as a fashion photographer for top magazines such as Vogue and Marie Claire. This is Hiett’s only album, produced by CBS Sony in 1983, and a photo book of the same name was released at the same time. Featuring languid, bluesy electric guitar throughout, it was a hot topic as the ambient music that was popular at the time. Various Japanese and American musicians participated, including Elliot Randall (guitar), Moonriders’ Toru Okada (keyboard), Yoshiaki Shirai (guitar), Hirofumi Suzuki (guitar), Masahiro Takekawa (violin), and Kazuhiko Kato (guitar). This release is the long-awaited world’s first CD release.
