eBay AKRONE K-04 “Vipére de Besançon” CHRONOMETER WITH CHRONOMETER CERTIFICATE – LIMITED TO 50 PCS NUMBERED General condition: Excellent near mint, complete set including wooden box, 2 watch case box, papers, chronometer certificate. Refined Bauhaus-inspired watch, with a magnificent dial with its fascinating green color, originality, balance and elegance, with chronometric certification. This is hard to find as it is only 1 of the 50 certified chronometers. The condition of the watch is very good but please look at the pictures. The bezel has some surface scratches from wear that could be polished off. The watch is unpolished. The calfskin leather strap has normal wear but the deployant buckle is in excellent condition so a strap swap would render the watch looking like new. Who wouldn’t want a Viper hallmark? It is a pledge of excellence, it is the holy grail of watchmaking. Issued by the Besançon Observatory, it testifies to the accuracy of the movement of watches that aim for the precious title of “chronometer”. The Viper head is on the case back. Besançon is a cradle of French watchmaking and geographically approximately 105 kilometeres from Vallee de Joux, Switzerland and less than a 3 hour drive to Geneva. Besançon became the watchmaking capital from 1850. Besançon inaugurated its astronomical, meteorological and chronometric observatory which emerged from the ground between 1883 and 1885.
